You can control the regeneration of the OAB through the ECP, however you cannot change how often outlook downloads the OAB from exchange - it's an automatic every approximate 24 hours.

You could switch everyone to using Online mode, removing Cached Exchange, but Cached exchange works better as you're not putting as much pressure on the server as you would be with regular online mode.

Yes downloading the address book manually never works for me. I also tell people by the next day it will be updated. I was hoping for a fix, but it sounds as if I will have to just deal with it. For the manual download it's the same as it's been since at least Exchange , if you untick the box that says download changes, this forces a full OAB download and will include the updated info.

Downloading the address book manually has always worked for me, but you have to make sure the OAB is regenerated on the server and given a bit of time to update it's distribution locations min is what I give and it always works.

The only time i've ever had a problem with the OAB was with adding images of users into AD - when I did it once with a user, they didn't like the picture and wanted to change it, and after forcing the rebuild a couple of times, it still wouldn't update; actually it took 2 weeks to update on her system - which was really odd without deleting any files from the system within her profile where the OAB is kept.

Ah, finally found the answer. I have no idea why forcing Outlook to re-download the address book does work though.
